County asks Wisconsin Counties Association to lobby for greater local control

At its June 18 meeting the Douglas County Board adopted Resolution #30‑26 requesting the Wisconsin Counties Association and state leaders consider and lobby for legislation to provide counties greater local regulatory control over projects such as large‑scale wind and solar, data centers, and concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs). The resolution frames local governments as best positioned to address community‑specific impacts and requests the County Clerk forward the resolution to the WCA, local and state legislators, the governor and other county boards.
The measure was presented by the County Board, amended on the floor to come from the full County Board, and adopted following an initial motion by Supervisor Sandok Baker and a second by Supervisor S. Hendrickson.
