Canyon hires Doshier, Pickens & Francis for FY2025–26 audit

The City Commission voted March 17 to engage Doshier, Pickens & Francis to conduct the City of Canyon's financial-statement audit for the fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2026.
Finance Director Joel Wright recommended continuing with Doshier, Pickens & Francis, noting the firm specializes in government audits in the Texas Panhandle and has been responsive to city needs. "They were available anytime needed to talk through questions or issues providing answers backed by professional experience," Wright said.
Mayor Pro-Tem Cody Jones moved to engage the firm and Commissioner Danny Potter seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The engagement secures audit services for the FY2025–26 audit cycle and continues the city's relationship with the firm identified in the recent FY2024–25 audit presentation.
