Board approves Single Plans for Student Achievement and recognizes student achievements

The board approved the 2025‑2026 Single Plans for Student Achievement (SPSA) for John B. Riebli Elementary, Mark West Elementary and San Miguel Elementary at the May 12 meeting.
On a motion by Trustee Tracy Lavin‑Kendall, seconded by Trustee Smith, the board approved the SPSAs for the three elementary schools. Trustees also recognized 2026 Redesignated English Learner students and presented Superintendent Bacon Young Writer Awards to students from Mark West Elementary, San Miguel Elementary, John B. Riebli Elementary and Mark West Charter School. The Lions Club presented an award to district nurse Jen Shubin for prioritizing vision testing for students. Third‑grade students from San Miguel described their steelhead lessons and creek release process during the presentations.
