Council amends Recreation & Park Board rules to make Administrator a member

At first reading Council amended Ordinance 2026-22 governing the Recreation and Park Board to add a sentence specifying that the Village Administrator shall also serve on the board and that vacancies are filled by mayoral appointment for the remainder of the term. Juan Fernandez moved to amend the last sentence in the second ‘Whereas’ clause to read: "The Village Administrator shall also serve on the Recreation and Park Board. Any vacancy occurring by death, resignation, or otherwise shall be filled by appointment of the Mayor for the remainder of the vacated term." The amendment passed 6-0.
Council did not complete additional readings at this meeting; the amendment clarifies board membership and appointment procedure and will be incorporated in subsequent ordinance versions.
