The Village of South Jacksonville Board of Trustees voted unanimously Aug. 7 to approve payables for June ($311,587.81) and July ($103,715.56), and to adopt an ordinance ascertaining the prevailing wage for laborers, workmen and mechanics employed on public works.
President Richard Samples called for the vote after Trustee Paula Belobrajdic‑Stewart moved to approve the prevailing wage ordinance and Trustee J.W. Coleman seconded. Roll call approval for the payables and the ordinance was recorded as unanimous. Trustee J.W. Coleman also moved approval of minutes for multiple board and Committee of the Whole meetings held between May and July 2025; Trustee Michael Preston seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous roll call.
Trustees did not discuss deviation from the budget line items related to the approved payables during the meeting. The approved prevailing wage ordinance was presented as a standard annual action to align local public‑works wages with state guidance; the board adopted the ordinance as presented.
