Hounsfield hears progress report on water main, meter replacements and sewer approvals

Taylor Jennings of engineering firm Barton & Loguidice updated the board on multiple water and sewer projects. Jennings said work on the Old Rome State Road water main is moving forward; meter replacement by town staff is ongoing with roughly 150 meters left to install and the base station now reporting approximately 500 meters as billing integration continues.
Jennings also reported that Sewer District #1 is awaiting NYSDEC and NYSDOT approvals and that easement coordination remains in progress. Water Service Area #8 is in Phase 1A pending Comptroller approval and surveyor field work. These project updates were presented during the Sept. 11 board meeting for tracking and future budgeting.
