Wildlife-fencing project on winter shutdown; Gate #7 electrification and food-truck power estimates presented

Gale Associates reported the wildlife fencing project is on winter shutdown but coordination with contractor Hastie Fence Company continues on change order #2, which would electrify Gate #7 and install a new slide gate on Cobbler Drive.
Gale confirmed FAA Reimbursement Request #2 for the fencing work was submitted to MassDOT Aeronautics Division on Jan. 15, 2026. The commission discussed the slide gate power requirements and that electrical work for the gate was not in the original contract and would be paid by the city.
Airport Manager Russ Cornenia also presented a quote from Christian Haynes to add two 120V outlets plus one 30-amp and one 50-amp outlet mounted on a pole outside the administration building for food trucks (approx. $3,000) and a separate quote to provide power to the new slide Gate #7 (approx. $6,000). Chair Raymond reminded commissioners to review the draft Capital Improvement Program (FFY 2026–2031) and bring comments to the next meeting.
