Neighbors ask DRB to weigh blasting, processing and traffic impacts from Beta master plan

Several members of the public spoke during the Beta master‑plan sketch hearing, calling attention to potential noise, dust and traffic impacts from excavation, blasting and on‑site rock processing. "It's the processing of the stone that is what annoys you," said tenant and property owner Brian Precourt, describing concerns about crushers and material‑processing noise moving closer to Williston Road and Palmer Court.
Larry Lackey of the airport urged coordination on traffic patterns, noting that changes in route connectivity (DaVinci Drive, Aviation Avenue and access to cargo aprons) could shift truck routes. Beta and the board agreed the site‑plan level review and phasing plans should address where processing occurs, timing of blasting, and traffic mitigation; board members suggested locating disruptive processing at the far edges of the site where feasible and addressing phasing to avoid prolonged impacts to existing tenants.
The DRB did not set conditions at sketch plan stage but asked Beta to provide a phasing plan, specify locations and controls for rock processing, and demonstrate how traffic routing and construction staging will limit effects on nearby businesses and neighborhoods in future filings.
