Council approves consent agenda including multiple board appointments and Champlain Parkway maintenance agreement

The council approved the evening’s consent agenda unanimously after the chair read the items into the record. The consent agenda bundled multiple procedural and administrative items for a single vote, including appointment of new members to the library board, natural resources committee, pension advisory committee, planning commission, public arts committee, recreation and parks, the development review board, economic development committee, the energy and housing committees, and other city boards.
Staff also included administrative authorizations: approval for the city manager to execute a Champlain Parkway maintenance agreement among South Burlington, the City of Burlington and the State of Vermont; receipt of the 2025 progress update on the South Burlington hazard mitigation plan; an update to procurement and data-control sections of the city’s financial policies; authorization for the city manager to sign a superseding GSA lease for expanded space for the South Burlington Vet Center at 19 Gregory Drive; and authorization for the fire chief or designee to submit a FEMA Assistance to Firefighters grant application to purchase a high-fidelity patient simulator.
A motion to approve the consent agenda was moved and seconded and the chair called the ayes; the chair noted that Elizabeth voted aye remotely and the vote was declared unanimous.
