Trustees consider turning former garage concrete into pavilion; naming proposals raised

President Richard Samples proposed removing walls from a garage structure while leaving the concrete pad intact to create a pavilion on Village property, and said staff could perform the work. "My idea was to tear the walls down and leave the concrete to make a pavilion on that concrete pad," Samples said, and trustees discussed whether a formal motion or resolution was necessary and who would perform demolition and cleanup.
Trustee Tom Jordan proposed naming the future park "Samples Park," and Trustee Paula Belobrajdic-Stewart noted longtime service by a previous trustee, saying there has "never been a trustee who has served 40 years like Gotschall did" and that the village should consider recognizing that service as part of naming discussions. The board agreed to continue the conversation as the project proceeds and to consider whether the pavilion or another site is the appropriate dedication.
