Staff told the council that the city's annual meeting date shifted to April 14, which narrowed the available windows for an informational hearing before ballots mail on March 25. "The earliest that we can start the informational meeting would be March 15...so really in truth that, March 16 is the earliest that we could hold the informational meeting," Ashley said.
Councilors discussed several date options (March 16, 18, 23) and settled by consensus on March 16 so informational materials arrive before ballot mailing. Staff said draft warning language will be presented in February to meet final ballot-warning deadlines in late February.
