Board approves digital-sign replacement at 42 Kitz Road, asks DOT to review visibility

The Planning Board approved a minor site-plan modification to replace an existing freestanding sign with a digital sign at 42 Kitz Road (S/B/L: 17.-1-47.3). Glenn Smith explained the sign would occupy the same location as the existing sign. Board members noted the example sign submitted had a misspelling of the road name and recommended DOT review even though the sign sits on private property, to confirm it does not impair sightlines on the adjacent state road.
Consulting attorney Steve Vegliante advised the board that the action is a SEQR Type 2 and therefore does not require a 239 review. Michael Hoyt moved to approve the minor modification subject to DOT review; Arthur Knapp seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
