Students report fall activities; Silverton places twice in top five at Skills USA nationals

Student leaders briefed the Board on fall activities at Silverton High School and celebrated competitive success at Skills USA. ASB representatives Mireya Wacker and Kai Hawley described fall sports—cross country, girls and boys soccer, volleyball and football—along with homecoming preparations and a community open house.
Haley Meyer, representing Skills USA, reported that 18 students from Oregon competed at the national event in Atlanta and that Silverton High School was the only school to place in the top five twice. “Silverton High School was the only school to place in the top five which they did twice,” Meyer said. The Board acknowledged student achievements during the meeting’s school report section.
