Board forms finance committee, appoints Wiesner, Ort and Buchholz

The Silver Falls School District 4J Board approved the formation of a district finance committee and subsequently appointed three board members to serve: Chair Phil Wiesner, Director Josh Ort and Director Tom Buchholz.
Director Owen Von Flue moved to create the SFSD Finance Committee; Director Jennifer Traeger seconded and the motion passed. The Board then considered member appointments to the committee—an agenda item added earlier in the meeting—and Director Aaron (Ort) moved to appoint Wiesner, Ort and Buchholz; Vice Chair Derrick Foxworth seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Board discussion noted that three committee terms will expire June 30, 2025, and that the committee will meet quarterly. The creation and membership appointments were recorded as unanimous decisions at the Sept. 9 meeting.
