Chair Phil Wiesner reminded the board that he had suggested adding an agenda item about a school board student representative the previous summer. Interim Superintendent Kim Kellison said she agrees with the suggestion and clarified that student representatives "would not be in executive session nor could vote." The board will request OSBA's policy to begin researching how to implement the role.
The board did not adopt a policy at the work session; instead, members agreed to collect relevant guidance from OSBA and return the item for future consideration at a regular meeting.
