Board updates facilities usage rates in KG-AR; maintenance reports staff loss and rekeying work

The Silver Falls School District 4J board approved updates to the administrative regulation KG-AR that revise hourly rates for custodial and theater technicians; no changes to the underlying policy KG were made.
Interim Director of Finance Kim Doud told the Board that hourly rates for custodial/kitchen staff, staff theater technicians and student theater technicians had not been updated since 2018 and recommended updating the administrative regulation. Director Owen Von Flue moved to approve the updated rates and changes to KG-AR; Director Aaron Koch seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Director of Maintenance Jeff Alderman also reported that the department suffered the loss of a custodian, Tracy Ferguson, and said staff are working harder with fewer people. He added that “the high school is currently being rekeyed and they are working on small projects to keep the schools safe.” The Board did not change policy KG; the action updated the administrative procedure and fee schedule in KG-AR.
