At the ADLC Board of Adjustment meeting on July 9, Joe Romero of the Pintler Athletic Center described how proceeds associated with the Nelson family’s land donation and the county’s planned purchase will be distributed among local recreation and school projects. Romero provided a line-item breakdown: $100,000 for Lincoln Elementary’s playground, $60,000 for the Anaconda Trails Society, and the remainder to Anaconda Little League and work at the Marty May complex.
"Every cent, except for any processing fees with the county, will go to the three organizations listed above," Romero said, urging the board to approve the variance so the parties could finalize the transaction. The board approved the variance unanimously, clearing the way for the nonprofit distributions described in Romero’s statement. The exact sale price the county will pay and any processing fees were not recorded in the minutes.
