EDB approves three procedural items, funds for building center and bank

The Anaconda Deer Lodge County Economic Development Board approved the minutes from its Jan. 8, 2026 meeting and took two funding actions at its July 8 meeting. Carl Hamming moved to approve the January minutes and Pat Gallagher seconded; the motion carried with no opposition.

On the Anaconda Building Center proposal from GWE Don’s LLC, the board approved a 10% grant equal to $365,000 after hearing a presentation from applicant Jason Marks and supportive public comment from an employee. In announcing the vote, the record states: "Bill Everett made a motion to approve funds for Anaconda Building Center in the form of a 10% grant in the amount of $365,000.00; seconded by Colleen Riley. Motion approved."

The board also approved a 10% grant for a bank redevelopment project. The transcript records a motion to approve a 10% grant of $600,000 for the bank project and notes Kristy McKay abstained from the vote due to her position with Glacier/Valley Bank. The motion text in the minutes contains a typographical reference to "Glacier Bank" in one line and "Valley Bank" elsewhere; the presenting speaker identified the project as Valley Bank and described property acquisition, cleanup of underground tanks and asbestos abatement, and a planned spring 2027 construction start.

These recorded actions will be forwarded as recommendations to the ADLC Commission per the board's usual process.
