The Manistee County E911 Board voted June 17 to move forward with purchase of a Zetron radio system after the Technology Committee presented competing quotes from Zetron and Intrado. Chief Johnson moved — and Mr. Mosholder seconded — a motion to "move forward with the purchase of the Zetron Radio System, not to accede $330,000 over the next five (5) years." The motion passed on a roll-call vote with Dir. Medacco, Trp Skorka, Mr. Mosholder, Chief Johnson and U/S Torrey voting Yes.
The technology discussion followed a Technology Committee meeting held June 16. Committee minutes were approved at the meeting after the radio-system motion; Chief Johnson moved to approve those minutes and Mr. Mosholder seconded. The board did not record any dissenting votes on the purchase motion during the roll call. The board will now proceed with the procurement steps identified by the Technology Committee.
