Council previews EV firefighter training donation and school resource officer MOU

Commissioner Cole (Speaker 4) said the council would consider accepting a donation from The Poor Foundation valued at $10,818 to provide classroom EV-firefighter safety training for the fire department. "They donated, dollars 10,818 to train," Speaker 4 said. The training is classroom-based to prepare firefighters for electrical-vehicle fires.
On police-school relations, Speaker 4 said a previously tabled memorandum of agreement with the Saratoga Springs School District for school resource officers had been revised after departmental review and would be brought back for consideration. The council also previewed several vendor and maintenance contracts for police and fire vehicles and equipment.
