During Nov. 27 business, staff described a reinstatement process for a senior account clerk in the public safety department. The employee had previously been appointed after passing probation, resigned less than a year ago, and subsequently sought reappointment; staff said the appointing authority approved the request and that there was a current vacancy.
Commissioners asked whether a resigning employee must state a reason for leaving; staff coordinator Carissa Salvo responded that a resignation reason is not required and that exit interviews are handled by HR. The commission moved, seconded and approved the reinstatement at the meeting.
