Council reviewed a cluster of procurement items on the agenda, including award recommendations for City Hall Annex repairs to Ganem Contracting, DPW garage modernization to CNS Engineers, Arts Council HVAC to T. McElliot Inc., and a change order to PCC Contracting for Woodlawn Street parking deck repairs. Staff noted that several proposals were pending final approvals from finance, purchasing, risk and safety; if approvals do not clear, items will be pulled to a later meeting.
Council also discussed an E&O insurance shortfall for one professional-services RFP; staff said the bidder lacked the $2,000,000 errors-and-omissions coverage required by purchasing policy but had met other requirements. Staff reported that updated documents had come in that morning and the items appeared ready for the next meeting. Public Works also announced a donated Christmas tree valued at $100 to be accepted under a separate agenda item and requested an update on widening the Woodlawn entrance, where a county contribution of $50,000 was referenced.
