Council approves Tonko design grant, engineering addenda and multiple city contracts

Public Works announced a DEC high-hazard dam funding opportunity and the council authorized addenda to engineering contracts: a small increase (+$4,600) and a schedule extension for the water safe-yield report and a time extension for traffic-signal design. The council also awarded a contract to Flak Industries for pipe supports at the water-treatment plant (low bid $84,700) and approved multiple small service contracts (pigeon control, parts supplier) and invoice payments for professional services. A DEC urban and community forestry grant (~$75,000) was accepted to fund tree planting over the next three years.
Council approved these measures by voice vote (motions recorded as passed). The moves advance several capital and maintenance projects already in the city’s capital program and moderate operational contracts for DPW and public-safety facilities.
