Centennial board approves agenda and large consent package including $3.07M accounts payable, staffing changes

The Centennial Public School District No. 12 School Board unanimously approved the meeting agenda and a multi-item consent package at its Oct. 20, 2025 regular meeting. Chair Knisely called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., and the board adopted the agenda on a motion by Murphy, seconded by Linser.

The consent packet ratified accounts payable totaling $3,067,318.15 and payroll of $7,762,507.28. It also included numerous personnel actions: new hires (for example, Deante Ballesteros as a kids club worker and Annelise Raisanen as a long-term substitute teacher), leaves of absence, resignations, a retirement effective Nov. 7, 2025 (Gretchen Anderson, CHS cook manager), lane changes for certificated staff, and increases in FTE or daily hours for several employees. The packet approved overnight and out-of-state field trips (boys basketball to Wisconsin Rapids, boys swim & dive to Fargo, and a planned high school trip to Washington, D.C., April 28, 2026) and authorization to move forward with planning for a Summer 2027 trip to Japan.

“Motion to approve the Consent Agenda Items as detailed in the enclosures by Schwinn, seconded by Hansen. Vote: 6-0-0.” The motion carried, approving the contracts listed on the consent agenda, including the CEA teacher contract, paraprofessional contract, technology assistant and specialist contracts, and the confidential unit contract. Subsequent administrative steps listed in the packet (for example, payroll processing and contract execution) will proceed per district policy.
