The Heritage Pines Community Development District Board voted Feb. 18 to approve A‑Z Tree Service’s $600 estimate to remove a hazardous tree and grind the stump behind 11453 Heritage Point Drive.
Resident Don Brothers told the Board that the tree is an invasive species, was significantly damaged by recent hurricanes and that a debris pile left by a previous owner sits on CDD property. Supervisor Stephen Putman inspected and photographed the site, prompting the Board to consider three A‑Z proposals: clean up/trim ($350), remove with stump grind ($600) and forestry mulch ($5,475). On motion by Michael Walsh, seconded by Stephen Putman, the Board approved the $600 removal and stump‑grind estimate “with all in favor.”
District Manager Chuck Adams said the A‑Z scope differs from the Environmental Solutions approach discussed elsewhere on the agenda because A‑Z would use a forestry mulcher for broader grinding, while ES’s work is more hand‑oriented. The Board directed that the approved work proceed for the specific address noted by residents.
The Board’s action was recorded as a formal motion and passed unanimously; the five supervisors were present for the vote.
