Centerville to use state grant to repair sewer lines on Old Bryan, Church and Polk

The Centerville City Council on July 8 authorized staff to pursue a state Water Supply and Infrastructure Grant that city engineers say will fund repairs or replacement of sewer lines on Old Bryan Road, Church Street and Polk Street. Public Works Director Daniel Shirley told council members the award covers those streets but does not provide enough money to include Jefferson Street.
Shirley also said Stewart Street needs a new water line and that fire hydrants will be added when those water lines are replaced. Council adopted resolutions accepting forms TWDB-0201A and TWDB-0201D and authorized submission of the grant application; the motion carried 4 ayes, 0 noes and 1 absent. The council did not specify project timelines or a construction contractor at the meeting.
