Ely school board elects 2025 officers by acclamation

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Ely Public School District board elected Rochelle Sjoberg chair, Hollee Coombe clerk and Tom Omerza treasurer by acclamation and set its 2025 meeting schedule.
Rochelle Sjoberg was elected board chair by acclamation at the Jan. 13 meeting of Independent School District No. 696 after being nominated by Tom Omerza. Hollee Coombe was elected clerk and Tom Omerza was elected treasurer; the board recorded the results in the minutes.
The board also designated the second Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. for regular meetings and the fourth Monday at 6:00 p.m. for monthly study sessions, and named the Ely Echo as the official district newspaper for 2025. Those administrative appointments were included in the Program Consent Agenda approved by the board.
