Heritage Pines board approves additional cleanup work at parcel '33', notes wetland constraints

The Heritage Pines CDD on Dec. 10 approved additional cleanup work at parcel '33,' including perimeter cleanup, removal of dead trees, and mulching. The proposal, requested by Supervisor Carol Vaughan and presented by District Manager Chuck Adams, included an optional scope of weed-whacker cleanup on a dry retention slope; the board approved the proposal on a motion by Michael Walsh, seconded by Stephen Putman, "with all in favor."
District Engineer Kurt Heath advised that a natural wetland exists in the center of the area and described an excavated retention area on the western side; he also said the south side is difficult to mow with equipment. Mr. Adams said the invoice will be paid upon completion and Chair Kathleen Lonergan asked for maps to be provided to Supervisor Stephen Putman. The minutes record that Mr. Gatz later noted wood chips are free and additional mulching will occur in early spring; he also agreed to inspect dwindling native grasses at Hole 2 to determine replacement needs.
