Council approves consent calendar, greenlights contracts and software purchases

The Santee City Council approved its consent calendar at the Aug. 13 regular meeting, authorizing a series of contracts, purchases and grant acceptances.
The council recorded a formal expenditure of $121,205.61 for June 2025 legal services and authorized a professional services agreement with TeamCivX for a funding feasibility assessment not to exceed $140,000. The council also adopted resolutions to accept a UASI grant subaward for regional emergency management training, and to purchase a 2025 CAT 255 compact track loader per Sourcewell Contract #020223 for $144,305.34. The council authorized a three-year enterprise license agreement with ESRI and appropriated $8,840 from General Fund reserves for that license, and approved appropriation of funds to purchase Microsoft Dynamics licenses.
Vice Mayor Rob McNelis moved approval of the consent calendar as amended; the motion carried 5-0. Several items (2, 3 and 9) had been pulled for discussion prior to the vote. The record shows the council opted into a national opioid settlement (Purdue Pharma, L.P. and Sackler family) as part of consent agenda actions.
