Council considered and approved a purchase agreement with The Trust for Public Land to add approximately 84.5 acres to Campbellton Park.
Rick Lindsey (council discussion) said the purchase price is just under $2 million, and that the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship grant will provide most of the funding. Lindsey said the city's potential fiscal exposure is minimal โ he cited a possible professional-services impact of roughly $14,000 that the city may need to cover.
A motion to approve the purchase agreement (agenda item 25Dash052) passed by unanimous voice vote. Council members and staff praised the acquisition as advancing long-term park and riverland preservation goals.
