The Center Point ISD Board of Trustees met in a special session on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at the Administration Building, 215 China Street, to interview candidates for the district superintendent position. Board President Scott Turner called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the posted notice was read as complying with the Texas Open Meetings Act.
The board entered closed session at 5:01 p.m. under Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code to deliberate personnel matters, specifically to interview superintendent candidates. The minutes record that the meeting “resumed in open session at 8:15pm, with no votes nor decisions being made while in closed session.” No appointments, votes, or public decisions related to superintendent selection were recorded in open session.
After returning to open session, Trustee Allen Kaiser made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Trustee Jimmy Nibblett seconded. The motion passed with six yeas and one absence (Mr. Sherry Rivers). The meeting adjourned at 8:16 p.m.
Present at the meeting were Rene Aguirre, Kimberly Bolin, Allen Kaiser, Jimmy Nibblett, Jesse Segura, and Scott Turner. Mr. Sherry Rivers was recorded as absent. The board noted that the meeting notice had been posted in accordance with Texas Government Code Chapter 551.
