Condo association wins wetlands permit for concrete dumpster pad at 493 Ocean Blvd.

The Hampton Planning Board on Aug. 5 approved a wetlands permit for Surfside Thirty Condo Association to install a 28-foot by 10-foot concrete pad to support existing dumpster storage and pickup at 493 Ocean Boulevard. Association President Paul Pezone and Treasurer Jack Kehoe said the asphalt beneath the dumpster had deteriorated and a concrete pad is best practice; the proposal maintains the existing natural drainage swale.
Board members questioned truck access and referred to a July 29 Conservation Commission letter with Best Management Practices for properties adjacent to the salt marsh; Pezone said the association has implemented recommended practices and that they do not anticipate additional parking-lot damage once the pad is installed. A nearby resident asked whether the new pad would increase flooding on adjacent property; the applicant said the work will not prevent water from flowing back into the wetland. The board approved the permit per the Conservation Commission stipulations (motion by Mr. Lessard; second by Mr. Galanis) 7-0-0.
