Highland Falls board approves routine warrants, permits and a small budget transfer

The board approved routine fiscal and permit items during its Sept. 2 meeting. Warrant No. 2504 for fiscal year 2025–26 was approved in the amount of $272,732.05. Trustees also approved a budget transfer of $1,599.12 from the general fund to workers' compensation and a set of community event permits, including a prayer vigil (Sept. 7) and the James I. O'Neil High School homecoming parade (Oct. 22).
The board approved Bear Mountain Bakery’s application to add awnings subject to standard specifications and a certificate of insurance; trustees discussed delegating routine permitting to the building department to streamline approvals. The mayor noted the general fund is being monitored: "the general fund looks like we're in good shape moving as we continue to move," he said. The board set the next meeting for Sept. 23, 2025.
