The board accepted the resignation of Police Officer James Bridal Jr. on May 5, saying the officer is pursuing a career change. Chair read a letter from Bridal in which he thanked the department and pledged to help with the transition; the board approved acceptance of the resignation with regret.
The board also approved a Memorial Day observation by American Legion Post 633 scheduled for May 26 from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at Memorial Park after confirming the post had supplied a certificate of liability insurance. Trustees moved and seconded the motion and the vote carried.
Separately, the board conditionally approved a community event request from Hometown Highland Falls for May 17 at the Rowe Park pavilion; the approval was contingent on receipt of the event’s insurance documentation, which the chair said was still pending.
