Superintendent previews Prop 1 and Prop 2 plans; board to seek public vote in December

He said Prop 2 — a multiuse turf/field proposal to be pared down from earlier versions — would be dependent on Prop 1 passing and would be presented to voters in December if advanced; the superintendent said, "Prop 2 cannot pass if Prop 1 does not pass." He cautioned cost estimates could change and stressed outreach to the public before a vote.
Board members discussed outreach plans, the possibility of showing before-and-after images to educate voters about field conditions, parking and staging logistics, and the handling of millings on-site. The superintendent estimated a realistic construction start around 2029 should the propositions pass and public support be sufficient.
