Cambridge-Isanti board approves preliminary 2024 levy, accepts donations and schedules Truth in Taxation hearing

The Cambridge-Isanti Public School District board voted Sept. 19 to approve the Preliminary 2024 Payable 2025 Property Tax Levy "at the maximum" and to schedule the district's Truth in Taxation hearing for Dec. 12, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Education Services Center. Treasurer Christopher Kampa presented the levy proposal; the motion to approve the levy was made by Nikki Johnson and seconded by Tim Hitchings and carried unanimously. The minutes do not specify a dollar amount for the levy.
At the same meeting the board adopted a resolution to accept gifts and donations from a list of donors including Tricia Anderson; Century 21 Moline Realty; The Blackbaud Giving Fund; the Minnesota Historical Society; Jim Boehm; the Lorraine Peterson Trust; and Art and Science Academy. Christopher Kampa presented the gifts resolution; the motion to adopt was made by Kevin Gross and seconded by Nikki Johnson. The record shows a roll-call vote with six yes votes, one absence (Director Carri Levitski), and the resolution was declared passed and adopted.
