At a special called meeting on Sept. 5, the Cedar Park City Council held the first reading and public hearing on a proposed tax rate of $0.363000 for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024.
City Finance staff presented the tax rate in conjunction with the FY2025 budget overview. The proposal was presented as part of the required public hearing process; Mayor Jim Penniman-Morin opened and closed the public hearing after no members of the public spoke.
Because this was a first reading, the council did not adopt the tax rate at the meeting. Further readings and a formal adoption vote will be scheduled in subsequent meetings per the city’s ordinance.
