The Highland Falls board authorized the mayor to sign an intermunicipal agreement with the Orange County Office for the Aging to provide congregate meal services at the Highland Falls Senior Center. Mayor DeSalvo told trustees the program links eligible residents (age 60+) with meals and other supportive services and that the county "pretty much reimburses us" for the initial days so the village will start slowly and expand if demand grows.
Trustees approved the agreement by motion and roll call. The village said a lunch coordinator position will likely be posted to run the program; reimbursement and program oversight will follow county guidelines.
