The Village of Highland Falls board found occupants at 66 Schneider Avenue in violation of the village noise ordinance for keeping a rooster and for constructing an unpermitted accessory structure, and authorized the building inspector to remove the bird and the coop and charge costs to the property owner. The hearing followed complaint #25-0061; the inspector said the violations had persisted for nearly two years.
Mayor DeSalvo read the notice of violations and the board moved and approved a resolution authorizing enforcement action. The board also authorized the police department to assist the building inspector if needed. In debate, one board member expressed concern about legal authority, but the motion passed with roll-call approval.
