Administrators report: STAAR testing underway; UIL and robotics achievements highlighted

Ritchie Thornton, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, told trustees that STAAR testing has commenced and will continue into May and that A–F accountability ratings are expected to be released soon.
High School Principal Tate Albright reported that the AHS UIL Academic Team won the Overall Sweepstakes Award and that the high school band received recognition at the UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest; Mr. Peralez received the HEB Award of Excellence and will compete as a state finalist. Middle School Principal Ollie Hart credited IT support for a smooth STAAR testing season, noted MS band activities and previewed a Pre-Adulting Day for students. Technology Director Victoria Yates said a cybersecurity tabletop at ESC 17 was held with area schools, robotics placed third overall, and online testing proceeded without issues.
