Board approves names for three new Bastrop ISD campuses

Deputy Superintendent Dr. Kristi Lee told the board Nov. 19 that Bastrop ISD engaged the community for names of three upcoming campuses and followed conflict-of-interest review protocols. The naming committee recommended names that reflected neighborhood or geographic features, and the board voted to approve Adelton Elementary, Riverside Middle School and Creekside Middle School.
The motion to approve the names was moved by Ashley Mutschink and seconded by Priscilla Ruiz; the vote carried unanimously. Dr. Lee emphasized that the board retains final authority under POLICY CW(LOCAL)-X to name district facilities and that the selections were prioritized to reflect community input.
