Board spotlights Gates Scholars, teacher appreciation and student achievements

The board also held a Teacher Appreciation Week recognition, during which the minutes note examples such as yard signs, handwritten notes, breakfasts and surprise lunches, and concluded the formal recognition before the evening reception. Trustees later called out athletic successes (including a national archery championship at Martin High School) and the launch of girls' flag football across the district's six traditional high schools.
