Commissioners update electronic publications policy to streamline public notices

The county updated its electronic publications policy so the county website can serve as the second publication for certain public notices as allowed by state law, reducing the need for costly print notices. County Attorney Steve Olson said the policy streamlines the process and authorizes the county administrator to help county offices follow the protocol.
"The electronic publications policy is put in place because the state of Indiana initially established a protocol for avoiding some costs," Olson said. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the amendment by unanimous voice vote.
