County adopts resolution to recover unclaimed property from state

County Attorney Steve Olson told the board that recent state records indicate funds are owed to Elkhart County and recommended a two-step resolution: authorize the county administrator to coordinate with the state to retrieve the money and instruct the treasurer to deposit recovered funds into the correct county fund.
Olson directed residents to the state's website, saying, "there's a website in Indiana called unclaimedproperty.gov. You can go on there and easily search your name." Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the resolution unanimously.
