Angleton ISD trustees voted Aug. 19 to opt the district out of homeschool participation in Angleton ISD University Interscholastic League (UIL) activities and to adopt TASB-recommended revisions to FD and FM local policies. The board’s motion to opt out carried unanimously.
Separately, Mr. Munoz reviewed TASB-recommended changes to local policy FNCE concerning communication devices (cell phones). Trustees approved changes to FNCE and amended the draft to remove a $15 noncompliance fee. The minutes show the communication-device changes are required by state law and that the board approved with that fee removed.
The Student/Parent Handbook changes tied to these policies were discussed as 'Discussion Only' and will return for action at a future meeting.
