Angleton ISD board approves 2025–26 budget and updated compensation plan

The Angleton ISD Board voted unanimously Aug. 19 to approve the district's 2025–26 budget and updated compensation plan. Finance Director Connie Cox reviewed the plan’s components — added and removed positions, stipends, and revised pay scales — and Superintendent Phil Edwards noted a potential incentive proposal that will be brought forward at a later date.
Trustee Justin Journeay moved to adopt the budget and compensation plan, and Trustee Michael Stroman seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. "The compensation plan includes added positions, positions removed, stipends and all updated pay scales," the minutes state. The superintendent also recommended the district participate in a TASB salary review to benchmark pay and will present an amended compensation plan next month if needed.
The minutes show the board approved the plan as presented; implementation and any incentive specifics will be subject to further board consideration.
