Superintendent flags October meeting conflict; board offered Oct. 7 or alternate weekday

The Ballinger ISD Board of Trustees met Sept. 9, 2024 and heard from the superintendent about the scheduling of the next regular board meeting. "Our next Regular School Board Meeting is scheduled to be held on October 14th at 5:30pm," the agenda text states, and the superintendent noted that Oct. 14 is Columbus Day when students and staff do not have school.
To avoid the holiday conflict, the superintendent suggested two alternatives: moving the meeting up to Monday, Oct. 7, or holding it on another weekday during the week of Oct. 14. The superintendent also noted a scheduling conflict later in the month: attendance at the ESC Region 15 Superintendent Conference on Oct. 21, which will affect availability for some district leadership duties. The board listed the scheduling matter under the Superintendent's Report for consideration at a future meeting.
