Argyle ISD board sets 2024–25 property tax rate at $1.2869; calls election

The Argyle ISD Board of Trustees adopted a 2024–2025 property tax rate of $1.2869 at its Aug. 19 meeting. Trustee Matt Slaton moved, "I move that the property tax rate be increased by the adoption of a tax rate of $1.2869, which is effectively a 0.5 percent increase in the tax rate." Trustee Josh Westrom seconded and the motion passed 7-0.
Following adoption of the tax rate, the board also voted to call a tax ratification election on Nov. 5, 2024. Trustee Matt Slaton moved that the board adopt an order calling the election; Trustee Josh Westrom seconded; the board voted 7-0 and the minutes record each trustee voting Yes. The board's action completes the statutory step to place the ratification question before voters on the November ballot.
