A staff member told the board that a prior effort to secure donations for road‑closure signs had been unsuccessful and requested authorization to purchase the signs from Raylan for a total of $2,196. “It was very it was unsuccessful with that, but because it's over the $2,000 or whatever we're allowed to spend now, I'm asking that we get these signs from Raylan, for a total of $2,196,” the staff member said.
The board moved and seconded a motion to authorize Kevin to place the order and pay the amount; the chair called the vote and members approved the purchase. Board members noted the signs will be used for emergency management and other township functions and that they will coordinate with Freeport on the purchase details so intermunicipal users know what is being purchased.
