Bastrop ISD reports rise in AP participation, large expansion in OnRamps enrollment

Jennifer Eberly, Chief Academic Officer for Bastrop ISD, reported improvements in the district's advanced-academics indicators during the March 11 board meeting. "Key highlights included a 6% increase in AP test participation and a 40% rise in students earning college credit," Eberly said.
Eberly and Cheryl Pinkston, Advanced Academics and LOTE Coordinator, told trustees that the district expanded its partnership with the University of Texas OnRamps program. Staff said the OnRamps Statistics course grew from 7 students to 72 in its first year, a scale-up that has prompted the district to increase course offerings for 2024–25 to create additional college-credit opportunities.
The presentation also noted that Cedar Creek High School was recognized among 237 schools nationwide for achieving above 50% female participation in the AP Computer Science A exam. Board Secretary Kellye Seekatz thanked Eberly and Pinkston after the report. The district tied the advanced-academics work to broader College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) strategies to help more students meet college-credit benchmarks.
